BONDS CAREER MAY BE OVER?

Barry Bonds is out until at least mid-season with arthroscopic surgery. Bonds may miss the whole year and by doing so will not have to take any steroid tests. In fact, Bonds can retire at the end of the season and never have to take a steroid test. It would appear that strategy would leave his single season home run record in tact.
However, he needs 52 home runs to pass Hank Aaron's career mark. Even if he returns at mid-season and plays all of next year he might not be able to beat Aaron. His age is becoming a real factor.
If I were as unpopular as Barry Bonds, I would finish the year on the DL and then slowly dissappear from baseball, knowing he can return in 5 years to join the Hall of Fame. The quest for Aaron's record could cause more trouble than it is worth.

DEE FOR MVP

If you scroll down you will see where earlier I posted a blog where I named Luther Head as the Illini's best basketball player. Last night I got a chance to see the Illini play Purdue in person from the 10th row in section A. I saw Dee Brown hit 7 threes in the first half. He played almost flawless basketball.
I have decided that he is more than just a very entertaining basketball player. He is a very very good basketball player. He should be the Big Ten MVP and a first team All American.
